Saturday 11th October – NADAFL Bobby Dalzell Cup Round 1

Downpatrick FC 2nds 6 v’s Kilmore Rec 2nds 0

Downpatrick went into this match on the back of some impressive results and were looking to continue that run in the Bobby Dalzell Cup against neighbours Kilmore Rec. Due to the competition rules Downpatrick were forced to make a few changes and these changes caused Downpatrick to start slowly but once they got into their stride Kilmore couldn’t cope with the home side. Saturday 11th October – Lisburn Invitational Junior League under 14’s

Downpatrick FC 9 v’s Bloomfield 0

Downpatrick came out of the blocks slowly on Saturday and looked very nervy in the opening ten minutes. They should have been punished for the poor start when Bloomfield was awarded a penalty for handball. Downpatrick came away with three points on Saturday thanks to a much improved second half performance. The opening forty five minutes on the other hand was a different story with the home side lucky to be only one nil down and that was thanks to goal keeper Michael McKenna who made three wonderful saves to keep his side in the match. Downpatrick travelled out to Ardglass to play the current league leaders, and they came home with all three points in what turned out to be an excellent performance. 14’s Progress In The Shield

Saturday 4th October – Lisburn Invitational Junior Shield under 14’s Round 1

Downpatrick went into this round 1 Shield match without their top scorer Eoin Rooney due to illness but they eventually progressed to the second round with a superb second half performance. Under 16’s Maintain Winning Run

Saturday 4th October – Lisburn Invitational Junior League – under 16’s

Downpatrick FC 4 v’s North Belfast 2

With all other team playing in the Shield Downpatrick had the opportunity to go top of the league and they made the perfect start. Downpatrick took centre and the ball was played back to Conor Breen who passed it forward to Eoin Darragh, Darragh passed to Callum Shields who played in strike partner Ben Curran who slammed the ball home with only 25 seconds on the clock.
