Sunday 30th November – Downpatrick Youth League under 13’s
Downpatrick FC 2 v Castlewellan 0
In an entertaining game Downpatrick came out on top thanks to two excellent finishes in either half. Downpatrick started the game of in positive fashion and Jack Fitzsimons and Ethan Breen were controlling the midfield area and it was Fitzsimons who scored the first goal. The central midfielder reacted quickest when the ball fell to the edge of the box after a clearance from the Castlewellan defence and hit a first time shot into the bottom corner.
Half Time: Downpatrick FC 1 v Castlewellan 0
Downpatrick secured all three points in the second half, Kieran Glennon, Ethan Breen and Fitzsimons all combined well before the ball was played into the box were Glennon was waiting to chip the keeper into the far corner for a well taken goal. If last week was all about the defence then this week was all about the combination of the midfielders, a great performance.
