Downpatrick came away from this game on Saturday with only a point but really they should have the game won in the first half, failing to convert any of the numerous chances they created. They totally controlled the first half until they gave away a free kick in a dangerous position just outside their box on the stroke of halftime which the Lurgan striker put into the top corner.
In the second half Celtic enjoyed a lot more of possession but neither team really created to many opportunities. With 10 minutes to go Downpatrick levelled after Tom Smyth drove down the right wing and crossed for Connor Rogan to volley home at the back post. Star performers for Downpatrick were Adam Jervis and Caolain Logue
