Friday 26th January – SBYFL under 18’s
Downpatrick FC 3 v Ards Rangers 3
After a horrible opening 20 minutes Downpatrick found themselves 3 goals down after allowing Ards Rangers to bully them. Downpatrick got their act together and started to play their short passing game, with 35 minutes gone Caolain Logue swung a free kick into the back post where Morgan Fitzpatrick volleyed into the back of the Ards net.

In the second half Downpatrick set about trying to get back into the game and as the half wore on they started to grow in self-belief but it wasn’t until the 70th minute when Ryan Cassidy converted a Joe Healy cross. This set up a frantic last 10 minutes where Downpatrick pounded the Ards goal, but Andy McCoubrey won a free kick around 20 yards out, Sean Ferris then hit a sublime free into the bottom corner to give his side a share of the points.
