Lisburn Junior Invitational League Cup Semi-Final’s
Downpatrick FC U13’s 4 v Camlough Rovers 1
Downpatrick FC U-13’s booked their place in the Lisburn Leauge cup final on Saturday with a decisive win over Camlough rovers. The last meeting of the teams had resulted in a substantial win for Camlough with some very fast players up front. Downpatrick got off to the perfect start with a goal mouth scramble and a very early Sean Conway goal. Although the celebrations were short lived when five minutes later Camlough were awarded a penalty, of which they took full advantage. As the first half progressed Jake Harding made his presence felt and was giving his strikers excellent material to work with. It wasn’t long them before Charlie McCamley through some very skilful play scored twice as Downpatrick headed into the break 3-1 up.
The second half started with the same intensity that the first half had finished and Connall Hanna and the Downpatrick defence absorbed all that Camlough threw at them, with a solid performance from goal keeper Ryan Carson. As the match wore on Downpatrick were putting together some very good periods of play and a Caleb Patterson shot almost made it 4-1 but for a fantastic save from the Camlough keeper. Downpatrick maintained their pressure which eventually led to an excellent Caolan Deegan goal. The match finished 4-1.
