With the creation of our new youth section at Downpatrick Football Club the Youth Development Officer Paul Moore and Coach Tony McShane have been holding various meetings with the parents over the last six weeks.
The purpose of these meetings is to inform the parents of the clubs policies and procedures, update them on our membership and dues strategy and provide information on the clubs official gear.
Speaking about the meetings was Paul Moore the clubs Youth Development Officer, “With the football club only starting a Youth Section in the summer we felt it was important that we tried to meet with all the parents and get to know them officially. These meetings provide us with the perfect opportunity to get across our policies and procedures which are all new and give the parents a chance to ask us at the football club any questions they have.
Over the last six weeks the club have held a ‘Parents Meeting’ at each age group and provided codes of conduct for parents and players alike. At the meetings the club have gone through our new Child Protection Policy which includes all of our policies like Social Media Policy, Coaches Recruitment Policy, Incident/Accident Reporting Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy etc…
Paul also commented, “Each of our meetings were very well attended but we know that a few parents couldn’t make it and it’s important they get in touch so we can go through the forms, policies and procedures individually with them. We would like to thank all those parents who attended the meetings, Mark and Bartley of Murphy’s Bar for allowing us use of their premises and to Principal Mr Sharvin and Paul in the De La Salle for use of the schools lecture theatre.”
Any parents that couldn’t attend one of the meetings need to get in touch with Paul or one of the coaches so that we can provide you with the relevant forms to be completed and also you own personal copy of the football clubs Child Protection Policy
