Downpatrick FC Club Notes – Week 18 08/12/14

  • To book a seat on the supporter’s bus to the Border Cup Final on Saturday 27th December, it costs £5.00 for ADULTS and £3.00 for UNDER 16’s. To guarantee a seat your money must be paid to Mark Murphy in Murphy’s Stores before Sunday 21st December. To reserve a seat you can PM on the football clubs Facebook page, DM on the football clubs Twitter page or alternatively you can text Tony McShane 07716853990 or Mark Murphy 07738637702.
  • This Saturday the 1st team are in the third round of the Intermediate Cup against Championship team Queens, this fixture has been reversed and will now be played at the ‘Dub’, with a 1.30pm kick off.
  • The Committee are organising a calendar for the three teams which have made the finals on Saturday 27th December, The firsts in the Border Cup Final, and the 14’s & 16’s in the Shield in the Lisburn League, they are inviting local businesses, family members and members to sponsor a square on the calendar at a cost of £20.00, anyone interested should contact club chairman Thomas Leckey on 07769 690428.
  • Downpatrick FC are proud to announce a sponsorship deal with local Car Dealers CY Kearney and Son Motors, pictured (see photo) presenting first team Manager Joe McMahon and coach Mick McCreesh is Andrew Kearney. Cy Kearney Motors will be sponsoring the adult’s polo shirts for this season and next.
  • The seconds are in league action and welcome Saintfield AYC to Dunleath, kick off is 2.00pm.
  • The under 16’s get back to league action on Saturday morning after last weekends semi-final win, they play Ridgeway at Ballymacoss, kick off is 9.30am.
  • The under 14’s play Oxford Sunnyside Colts on Saturday morning; this match kicks off at 11.15am in Barbour in Lisburn.
  • The under 13’s have two fixtures this Saturday, they entertain Celtic Bhoys on Saturday morning at 9.30am before they play league leaders Coney Island on Sunday morning at 10.30am, both games are in Dunleath.
  • Due to other teams participating in the NIBFA Cup the under 11’s have no fixture this weekend, training continues on Monday night at the Red High from 6.00pm – 7.00pm.
  • This Sunday is the last session of the Mini Soccer for the under 8’s and 10’s up in the Red High before Xmas, the last training session will also be on Monday 15th December before Xmas.
