This weeks Club Notes includes information on the fixtures for the teams this week, the Easter Training arrangements and details on our upcoming Fundraiser.
Club Notes – Week Beginning 10-04-17
- In partnership with Downpatrick RGU we are holding a joint fundraiser known as ‘SKYBALL’, both clubs will be selling tickets for £5.00 with the chance to win a first prize of £1000.00, second prize of £200.00 and three further prizes of £100.00 each. The fundraiser involves people purchasing a ticket, each ticket will be allocated a square on the top grass pitch at the RGU, five balls will be dropped from a helicopter over the pitch and each square that a ball lands in will be prize winners starting with the first prize. - This Saturday Downpatrick are at Rosconnor Playing Field, they welcome Derriaghy in the league, and this match kicks off at 2.00pm. Before that on Tuesday night they welcome neighbours Drumaness Mills to the same venue for a league fixture, this match kicks off at 6.45pm.
- The seconds are at home this Saturday in their penultimate league fixture to Celtic Bhoys in Dunleath and this match also kicks off at 2.00pm.
- The ladies were in action on Monday night in the first round of the Womens Co. Antrim FA Toals Cup when they travelled to play East Belfast Ladies, unfortunately the ladies suffered a four nil defeat but can feel optimistic for the season ahead as they fielded 7 under 20’s at one stage who will gain in confidence and experience.
- Congratulations to Charlie McCamley, Sean Duggan and Charlie McShane who represented the football club in Newcastle on Sunday for the IFA Player Development squad at the Mourne Cup.
- The under 16’s were in cup action on Monday night when they played Lurgan Celtic in the semi-final suffering an agonising defeat by 2 goals to 1.
- The under 15’s have a big week, tonight (Wednesday) they play Coney Island in the league, this match kicks off at 7.00pm before they play Celtic Bhoys in the semi-final of the cup on Saturday morning, this match is in Kilmore playing fields and kicks off at 11.00am.
- The under 13’s have a free week this Saturday.
- The 9-a-side development team have no fixture this week due to the cup semi-finals taking place.
- There is no mini soccer this Sunday morning due to it being Easter.
- Our Mini Soccer won’t be on next Monday night due to the Easter holidays but will return on Monday 24th April at 6.30pm.
- The under 6’s won’t be on next Monday night due to the Easter holidays but will return on Monday 24th April in the De La Salle Sports Hall at 6.00pm.
