Club Notes – Week Beginning 10/07/15

• The first welcome Ballynure Old Boys to Rosconnor this Saturday in the first round of the Steel and Sons Cup, this game kicks off at 2.30pm. Then on Tuesday 18^th August they travel to current league champions Ards Rangers in the league, this game kicks off at 6.30pm.
• The club have revived the successful match sponsorship from a number of years ago, its costs £50.00 to sponsor a match, if any local business would like to sponsor a match they can do so by contacting Tony McShane on 07716 853990. The first league game of our campaign was sponsored by Eamon P McGrady Accountants, this match involved two of the players from the business, (Left) Downpatrick’s Stephen Galbraith and (Right) Drumaness Mills Captain Gary Murdock, separating the pair is employee Johnny Hanvey. Galbraith would have had the bragging rights on Monday morning after he notched up a hat-trick.

• The seconds must wait an extra few days before they get their league campaign up and running when they welcome Annalong to Dunleath on Tuesday 18^th August, this match kicks off at 6.30pm also
• In their pursuit for promotion the Ladies team suffered a set back when they were defeated by their other promotion hopefuls Portadown Integrated Ladies last Wednesday by a score line of 3 – 1. Downpatrick’s goal was scored by the prolific Kyla Trainor.
• The under 15’s have a friendly this Saturday morning when they welcome Warrenpoint u15’s to Kilmore Playing Fields, kick off is at 10.30am. The under 14’s also have a friendly in Kilmore.
• The under 11’s & 13’s training will be on Friday evening in Dunleath, training starts at 6.30pm sharp, all players are asked to attend. If you can’t make it please let your manager know.
• We are holding a Development Centre for children aged 6 years old to 10 years old at the Red High 3G Pitch on Monday 17^th and 24^th August from 6.00pm – 10.00pm, any child within these age groups who wants to play in this years Mini Soccer on a Sunday morning needs to complete a Downpatrick Youth League Registration form at one of these nights. Please note each session costs £2.00 per child per session.
• For all our pre-Mini Soccer children aged 4 & 5 years old we will have details of when training returns in the next few week, please keep an eye on these club notes, our club website (www.downpatrickfc.co.uk) or our social media sites.
