Club Notes – Week Beginning 13/11/17
- All roads lead to Seaview on Thursday night when Downpatrick play neighbours Killyleagh YC in the quarter-final of the Border Cup. Please note that this match kicks off at 8.00pm, all support welcome.
- The first team welcome Crumlin Star to Rosconnoron Saturday afternoon in the league, this match kicks off at 2.00pm.
- The seconds travel to play Dundrum United on Saturday in the league, this match kicks off at 2.00pm. Last week they were beat by Newcastle Swifts 5 – 2 with Downpatricks goals scored by Nathan McShane.
- The under 18’s are in league action this Saturday,they play Rosario at 11.00am at the Hydebank Pitches.
- The under 16’s return to league action on Saturday morning after last week’s NIBFA Cup match, they play Loughgall in Dromore at 11.15am. In last week’s NIBFA Cup match the u16’s ran out two nil winners against Ardstraw, the Downpatrick goals came from Ethan Breen and Nathan Sharvin. Downpatrick’s man of the match last Saturday was Conail Gardiner who receives a ‘Golden Ticket’ from sponsors Downpatrick Subway.
- The under 14’s are in NIBFA Cup action on Monday night against Rosario, with the kick off time and venue to be confirmed. Last Saturday the u14’s drew 1 – 1 with Banbridge Town, the goal was scored by Peter Carberry from all of 30 yards. Downpatrick’s man of the match last Saturday was Chris McElroy who receives a ‘Golden Ticket’ from sponsors Downpatrick Subway.
- The under 13’s play Newcastle on Sunday morning in Dunleath, this match kicks off at 11.40am.
- The 2006’s 9-a-side team play Ballynagross this Sunday morning with the venue and kick off time to be confirmed.
- The 2007’s 9-a-side don’t have a fixture this Saturday due to the transfer test.
- The small sided games development centre is up in the Red High on a Sunday Morning, this is for our under 8’s and under 10’s. The coaches will be in touch about who is playing and at what hour.
- Training for mini soccer has moved up to the 3G Pitch at the Red High, the training times for the different age groups are as follows: 2010, 2009 & 2008 are training from 6.00pm – 7.00pm and those born in 2006 & 2007 are training from 7.00pm – 8.00pm, they need to wear shin guards and football boots, bring a bottle of water and dress according to the weather conditions. Parents are asked to complete the registration forms as soon as possible and return them to Paul Moore or Tony McShane.
- Training for children born in 2013, 2012 and 2011 will begin on Monday 9th October in the Red High from 6.00pm – 7.00pm.
