- Two of our Youth Coaches completed their Designated Officers Training recently, both Emma Bohill and Tony McShane are now trained to be the clubs official Designated Officers. Their roles is deal with any safeguarding concerns and play a fundamental role in creating a child centred ethos in the club and promoting safety and fun in football.
- After Saturday’s impressive victory in the second round of the Border Cup the first team return to league action this Saturday with an away fixture to Rosario YC, kick off is at 2.00pm. Downpatricks reward for progressing in the Border Cup is a local derby against Killyleagh, to be played Sat 15th November.
- The seconds are also in league action this Saturday, they entertain Kilkeel in Dunleath, kick off is at 2.00pm. Touser Holland’s men are looking to continue their impressive run.
- Both the Under 14’s and 16’s are in cup action this Saturday, the 14’s play Portadown Youth and the 16’s play North Belfast. These matches are quarter final ties and are played to a finish.
- The Under 13’s and 11’s had games last weekend, the under 13’s played Tollymore and fell to another defeat by a score of 6 – 0, they have no fixture this weekend. The 11’s played Coney Island and Portaferry in the 9-a-side development games, all three teams played some entertaining football with a few goals scored, like the 13’s they have no fixture this weekend.
- Our Mini Soccer section continues to grow, on Sunday morning we had again close to 50 children braving the windy conditions over the two hours. Our training continues on Monday night in the Red High from 6.00pm – 7.00pm, starting Monday 3rd November the under 6’s and 8’s will be moving indoors into the De La Salle sports hall and assembly hall, please make sure to wear the appropriate footwear for indoors.
- Also on Monday 3rd November we are encouraging all our Mini Soccer children to train in their fancy dress costumes, there will be prizes for the best dressed. Please remember to wear appropriate footwear to train.
