Lisburn Junior Invitational League Cup Semi-Final’s
Downpatrick FC U11’s 5 v Banbridge Colts 1
A great performance by Downpatrick u11’s in Lisburn on Saturday by winning 5 – 1 against Banbridge Colts. Downpatrick settled earlier than their opponents and won a free-kick which Eoghan Convie swung into the opposition box and Jack Hynds finished it off. More pressure from Downpatrick resulted in Oisin Hanna following a through ball and heading it over the keepers head and finishing into an open goal to make it 2 nil.
At the beginning of the second half Downpatrick held it tight for the opening 5 minutes and then sprang into action but had numerous shots were saved by Banbridge keeper. A spectacular shot from Leo noble found the top corner to make it 3 nil. Kieran Trainor scored an angled shot from outside of the box for 4 nil. Shay Holland finished off another attacking move at the back post 5nil to complete the scoring for Downpatrick. Banbridge scored a late consultation goal but there was no denying the players deserved to reach the final with a great performance.
