Downpatrick started this game on the front foot and put the Hillsborough players under a lot of pressure. Joe Healy chipped a free kick over central defender for striker Callum Shields who ran on and scored with left foot into the bottom corner. Downpatrick doubled their advantage when Caolan Bentham won a brave header to knock the ball into the box, this caused confusion before the ball broke to Andrew McCoubrey who struck low hard shot into bottom left corner.
Some great midfield play by Healy and McCoubrey ended with the ball being flicked on by Callum Shields for James Mahoney who made a great run and lobbed ball over keepers head. Downpatrick were now passing the ball around with confidence and a move involving Shields, McCoubrey and Ben Jamison before a perfect pass to Mahoney who smashed a shot into far corner. Again a fast break by Downpatrick with Shields sending Liam McCarron down the left, who played perfect ball to back post for Joe Healy to score Downpatricks fifth of the game.
