Downpatrick FC welcomes the announcements from local politicians that they believe that the Social Investment Fund is to provide financial support towards the cost of developing a new state of the art 3G pitch on land adjacent to Downpatrick Racecourse. Working closely with Council officials the club is, in addition to making its own financial commitment, seeking to line up a cocktail of additional funds from a range of sources to cover the total cost of the project.
We will be working hard over the coming months to ensure that this all comes together with the intention that we can be playing on the new pitch next season. We are especially thankful to the Newry Mourne and Down Council and to the Down Race Club for their support in bringing the project to this point.
