Club Notes – Week Beginning 01/04/19
- The football club are delighted to announce the sponsorship of our under 11’s Strip by local charity ALPS – All Lives Are Precious. Speaking for Alps, Ronan Gilchrist was delighted to sponsor the strip, ‘’We are excited about forging this partnership with the local football club, providing the opportunity to gain pastoral support, training and resources for all our players, coaches and members’. The under 11’s will get the opportunity to showcase the strip this Saturday when they play Banbridge Colts.
- The under 19’s play St James’s Swifts on Friday evening at Rathmore 3G Pitch, this match kicks off at 8.10pm.
- The under 17’s play Apex Sky Blues on Saturday morning at Grove Pitches, kick off is at 11am.
- The under 15’s played Coney Island on Saturday morning in an entertaining game, with the Island racing into a four nil lead before being pegged back and eventually drawing the game 5 all. Downpatrick’s games were scored by Finn Trainor getting a hat-trick and Peter Carberry getting a brace, they have a free week this Saturday.
- The under 13’s played Hillsborough Jets at Wallace Park Pitch last Saturday and came away with a 3 – 2 victory despite missing a few players through school trip, the goals were scored by a Jake Harding double and Conan Pleasants. This Saturday they are in the Semi-Final of the cup when they play Camlough Rovers at Dromore, this match kicks off at 11.15am.
- The under 12’s (2007’s) beat Cliftonville on Saturday morning, winning by 5 goals to two goals. The goals were scored by Darragh Higgins & Charlie McCamley both scoring two each and Charlie McShane rounding of the scoring. This Saturday sees them play their first 11-a-side match against Warrenpoint Town at Dromore Pitches, the match kicks off at 9.30am.
- The 2008’s played Camlough Rovers on Saturday morning and came away with a 2 – 1 victory with goals coming from Jack Hynds and Leo Noble. This Saturday they play Banbridge Colts in the Semi-Final of the Cup, this match kicks off at 10.00am at Lisburn Leisureplex.
- Our Mini Soccer training will continue to be on from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the Red High 3G Pitch. This training is for children born in the following years 2009, 2010 & 2011. Players are asked to dress for the weather, wear football boots and shin guards. All old and new players are welcome. For more information contact Paul Moore on 07549 661772.
- Training for our 2012 and 2013 age groups will continue at the Red High 3G pitch from 6.00pm – 7.00pm, please note that children will be outdoors and it’s important they are dressed for the weather and are wearing shin guards and football boots.
