Club Notes – Week Beginning 21/10/19

  • A number in our 100 Club Draw Fundraiser has become available, this draw costs £10.00 a month with the opportunity to win one of three prizes ranging from £250.00 for 1st prize, £150.00 for 2nd prize and £100.00 for third prize, if you’re interested in taking this number please contact Tony McShane on 07716 853990 or send a PM to the football club’s Facebook page.
  • This Saturday travel to Belfast to play Malachians FC in the league, this match kicks off at 2.00pm.
  • The under 19’s won again on Friday night, winning 3 – 2 against St James’s Swifts, Downpatrick’s goals coming from a Connor Rogan brace and Ethan Breen. The 19’s have a free week this Saturday.
  • The under 16’s drew an entertaining game in very wet conditions on Saturday morning when they welcomed Castlewellan to Dunleath, drawing 2 all. Downpatrick’s goals were scored by Peter Carberry and Nathan McAlister. This Saturday they play Coney Island in Dunleath at 9.30am.
  • The under 14’s had a free week last Saturday, this week they play East Coast Strikers in Fullerton Park at 11.00am
  • The under 13’s played Warrenpoint Town last Saturday morning, despite going down 1 nil the players put in a much improved performance. This Saturday they play Enzo FC at Ballymacoss Playing Fields at 9.30am.
  • The under 12’s lost to Lurgan Town on Friday evening with Jack Hynds scoring Downpatrick’s only goal. This Saturday they have a free week.
  • The under 11’s beat Rossglass County in Dunleath on Saturday morning by a 4 – 1 score line, with the goals coming from Darragh McAlinden brace, Eoin Keenan and Fionn Fennell. This Saturday they play Tollymore Bears in Dunleath at 10.40am.
  • The link for all teams training and match dues has now been shared on the individual group pages, it’s important that everyone signs up before Friday evening in order for their first payment to come out in October.
  • Training for our 2014 & 2015 (must be in Primary School) age groups begin this Monday night in the De La Salle sports hall from 6.00pm – 7.00pm, entry is via the Red High 3G. Please note players are required to wear trainers and shin guards and bring a bottle of water.
  • Training for the follow age groups is as follows: 2011’s, 2012’s & 2013’s is on a Monday night from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the 3G Pitch in the Red High.
