Downpatrick FC 3 v North End 0
In very windy conditions both Teams found it very difficult to adapt. Downpatrick played with the wind in the first half and created only a few chances, the final ball or their shooting was of target.
Downpatrick’s first goal came from a long kick out from goal keeper Fintan Canavan, the North End defence allowed the ball to bounce over their heads, Caolan Bentham was quickest to react and beat the keeper to slide the ball home. Five minutes later Downpatrick doubled their advantage, Andrew McCoubrey controlled the ball in midfield and played a through ball to Nathan McShane who’s first time shot gave the North End keeper no chance.

Downpatrick passed the ball a bit better in the second half and created chances a number of chances. Star man was Caolan Bentham whose pace and drive caused panic in the North End defence all morning. His run and lay of to McShane down the left wing resulted in Nathan repaying Andrew McCoubrey the favour with a ball to the back post for Andrew to volley home and seal their passage to the semi-final.
