• Downpatrick’s men’s teams had an important first week of pre-season with two great sessions last week and four hard fought matches in the Castlewellan Tournament on Saturday, with each match lasting forty minutes each, the players worked hard and eventually bowed out at the Semi-Final stage to eventual winners Rathfriland. Training continues tomorrow (Thursday) night before another pre-season fixture on Saturday against Ballynahinch Olympic at Kilmore Playing Fields, kick off is 2.00pm.
• The ladies team moved joint top of the league last week when they enjoyed an impressive 5 – 1 victory at home over Banbridge Ladies. Both Morgan Shannon and Kyla Trainor scored two each and Emma Carling with the final goal.
• Training continues on Saturday morning for this years under 14’s team in Dunleath from 10.30am – 12.00pm, The under 15’s welcome St Oliver Plunkett to Dunleath for a pre-season friendly, kick off is 10.30pm.
• The club’s Soccer Funweek is in a few weeks time, starting on Monday 27th July from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. This Funweek is for ALL children aged between 4 years old and 14 years old, it costs £10.00 for the first child of a family, £15.00 for two children of the one family and £20.00 for three or more children from one family.
