Hot on the heels of a superb first win in midweek Downpatrick came out of the traps very quickly and didn’t give Windmill a chance to get into the game. Downpatrick FC 2nds 10 v’s Kilmore Rec 2nds 3 

Touser Holland was looking his players to bring their scoring boots this week after last weeks draw with Saintfield AYC and he wasn’t disappointed with the response he got. He was also able to welcome back last years top goal scorer Sean McMahon to the line-up and he outlined how prolific he has become in front of goal, notching up an impressive five goal tally for the game.  Continue reading

Saturday 13th September – Lisburn Invitational Junior League under 16’s

Downpatrick FC 2 v’s Willowbank FC 1 

The under 16’s were looking to keep their winning run going at the start of the season and make it three wins out of three games and they left this result very late in the match to secure the three points. Downpatrick started off the 1st half playing reasonably well, the players were just finding it difficult to give the killer pass or find the target after some good approach play. Continue reading

Saturday 6th September – Border Cup 1st Round

Orangefield OB 0 v’s Downpatrick FC 6

Downpatrick progressed into the second round of the Border cup in emphatic style against their league counterparts Orangefield. The visitors came out of the blocks very quickly and were ahead within five minutes. Thursday 4th September – Lisburn Invitational Junior League – Under 16’s

Downpatrick FC 2 v’s Banbridge FC 1 

The Under 16’s had the honour of being Downpatrick FC’s first underage team to play a competitive match and they were successful in securing their first win. Although the 16’s won the game they didn’t start the game in a confident fashion. The team was slow to react and very nervous on the ball.  Continue reading
