Club Notes – Week Beginning 23/03/15

Downpatrick FC is pleased to announce that Kyran Smyth, managing director of KPS Chartered Accountants, has agreed to sponsor the polo shirts for all the youth players.

It is refreshing to see local businesses recognising the hard work and commitment being put in to provide the local community with an opportunity for the young people to develop both on and off the pitch’’.

  • The club’s ‘FIGHT NIGHT is on Saturday 11th April in Murphy’s Bar, tickets are priced at £10.00 and are available from Murphy’s Stores, Murphy’s Bar, any committee member and from all the fighters from Monday 30th March. A list of all fights will be on the website from this date also and in the local press next week.
  • The first team are at home this Saturday when they welcome Crumlin United to Rosconner, this match kicks off at 2.00pm
  • The seconds travel to play Castlewellan to take on their seconds in the Supplementary Cup, this match kicks off at 2.00pm.
  • The under 14’s and 16’s are both in league action this Saturday morning in the Lisburn league, the under 14’s play Lisburn Youth and the under 16’s play Lisburn Rangers, both games are at Wallace Park and kick off at 11.15am.
  • The under 13’s are looking to bounce back from Sunday’s last minute defeat to league leaders Coney Island when they play the same side again this Sunday in Dunleath. This game kicks off at 10.30am.
  • After last weekends disappointing defeat in the cup the under 11’s play Tollymore this week in an 11-a-side friendly, this match kicks off at 10.00am.
  • The mini soccer continues on a Sunday morning in the Red High 3g Pitch for the under 10’s and 8’s. If you have nothing better to do on a Sunday morning you should make an effort to come up and watch the different teams taking part and watch the enjoyment, enthusiasm and commitment on show. It really is a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
