Club Notes – Week Beginning 25/02/19

• The 100 Club Draw for February was held on Monday at the Mini Soccer training at the Red High. The winners are: 1^st Prize – £250.00 No. 82 Ian Kearney, 2^nd Prize – £150.00 No. 92 Elaine Morgan & 3^rd Prize – £100.00 No. 36 Kieran McMahon. The draw for March will be held on Monday 25^th We would like to thankall those who continue to support this club fundraiser.
• This first team welcomed welcome Immaculata to Rosconnor but were defeated by a scoreline of 6 – 1, Downpatrick’s goal was scored by Andrew McCoubrey. This Saturday they travel to play Crumlin United, kick off for this match is 2.00pm.
• The ladies began their circuit training on Monday night under the coaching of Tony Boyle in Murphy’s Bar, this training continues every Monday night and costs £3.00. Then on Wednesday night the ladies meet at Downshire Car Park at 7pm, all old and new players are welcome.
• The under 17’s played Aquinas Star on Friday and lost by a scoreline of 7 – 4, the Downpatrick goals were scored by Ethan Artt and David Forsythe. Both lads bagged a brace each.
• The under 15’s were in cup action on Saturday morning when they played Castlewellan Town, Downpatrick ran out comfortable winners with goals coming from Lewis Green, Nathan McAllister, Finn Trainor and Jack Rogan. This Saturday they return to league action against Celtic Bhoys in Dunleath, this match kicks off at 10.50am.
• The under 13’s are in cup action on Saturday morning when they play Oxford Sunnyside Colts at Ballymacoss, this match kicks off at 11.15am.
• The under 12’s (2007’s) drew nil-nil with Tollymore Bears on Saturday morning. This Saturday they are in the quarter-final of the cup against Enzo FC at the Lisburn Leisureplex Pitch this Saturday, the match kicks off at 10.00am.
• The 2008’s played Camlough Rovers on Saturday morning in a tight and tense match, they eventually ran out one nil winners thanks to a goal from Leo Madine. This Saturday they are in the quarter-final of the cup against Dromara Colts at Lisburn Leisureplex, this match kicks off at 11.00am.
• Our Mini Soccer continues every Monday from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the Red High 3G Pitch. This training is for children born in the following years 2009, 2010 & 2011. Players are asked to dress for the weather, wear football boots and shin guards. All old and new players are welcome. For more information contact Paul Moore on 07549 661772.
• Training for our 2012 and 2013 age groups is also on a Monday night at the Red High 3G Pitch from 6.00pm – 7.00pm, please note that children will be outdoors and it’s important they are dressed for the weather and are wearing shin guards and football boots.
