Club Notes – Week Beginning 18/02/19

• The 100 Club Draw for February will be held on Monday 25^th February at the Mini Soccer training at the Red High. Anyone who has still to pay their money can they please do so to guarantee their number is included in the draw. Also, anyone who hasn’t signed up for the direct debit can they please do so.
• This first team welcomed Islandmagee to Rosconnor last Saturday in a highly entertaining game, Downpatrick took the lead just before halftime through Jarlath Brannigan. The visitors scored two quick goals just after the hour mark, credit to Downpatrick they didn’t lay down and within five minutes they were on level terms thanks to an expertly taken free kick from that man Brannigan again. Islandmagee took the lead 10 minutes before then end but Downpatrick weren’t finished and secured a point via a twenty-five yard screamer from captain Adrian McCoubrey. This week they welcome Immaculata to Rosconnor, kick off for this match is 2.00pm.
• The ladies began their circuit training on Monday night under the coaching of Tony Boyle in Murphy’s Bar, this training continues every Monday night and costs £3.00. Then on Wednesday night the ladies meet at Downshire Car Park at 7pm, all old and new players are welcome.
• The under 19’s play Willowbank on Friday evening at Aquinas School 3G Pitch, this match kicks off at 8.10pm.
• The under 17’s play Aquinas Star on Friday evening at Bonehill 3G Pitch, this match kicks off at 8.10pm.
• The under 15’s are in cup action on Saturday morning when they play Castlewellan Town in Dunleath, this match kicks off at 10.50am.
• The under 13’s defeated Glenavy Youth 1 nil, Downpatricks goal was scored by Caolan Deegan, This Saturday they play Camlough Rovers at Wallace Park, this match kicks off at 9.30am.
• The under 12’s (2007’s) play Tollymore Bears at the Lisburn Leisureplex Pitch this Saturday, the match kicks off at 9.00am.
• The 2008’s progressed to the next round of the cup by defeating Lisburn Youth Colts on Saturday morning by 3 goals to two. Downpatrick’s goals were scored by Kieran Trainor and a Leo Madine double. This Saturday they play Camlough Rovers at Lisburn Leisureplex, this match kicks off at 12.00pm.
• Our Mini Soccer continues every Monday from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the Red High 3G Pitch. This training is for children born in the following years 2009, 2010 & 2011. Players are asked to dress for the weather, wear football boots and shin guards. All old and new players are welcome. For more information contact Paul Moore on 07549 661772.
• Training for our 2012 and 2013 age groups is also on a Monday night at the Red High 3G Pitch from 6.00pm – 7.00pm, please note that children will be outdoors and it’s important they are dressed for the weather and are wearing shin guards and football boots.
