Logue then sprayed the ball out to Declan Looney who crossed for Ruairi Quinn to head home. Kian Tierney was in mesmerising form as he jinked in between the Hillsborough defenders, he slipped the ball to the edge of the box for Ruairi Quinn to give his side the lead when stroked the ball into the back of the net.

Half Time: Downpatrick FC 2 v Hillsborough Boys 1

Downpatrick were in control of the game, when Hillsborough broke down the left and again caused havoc in the ‘Greens’ defence, as keeper Jac Zych came out and collided with the oncoming striker and gave away a penalty, which he then went onto save. A few minutes later Downpatrick failed to deal with a corner and they scored an own goal from Kyle McKeever.

Zych wasn’t so lucky moment later, when the referee gave a harsh penalty which they scored. Again the Downpatrick defence was caught sleeping as the Hillsborough striker put his team in front. Tierney pulled one back for his side with a fine solo goal before the final whistle to make it 4 – 3 to Hillsborough.
